Panthers Starter Out Against the Eagles After Talking Smack Ahead of Week 14
The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl contenders this season as they own a 10-1 record. This squad has strung along an eight-game win streak and heads into this affair against the Carolina Panthers as heavy favorites. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, Philadelphia is a 13.5-point favorite over the Panthers.
They'll be getting DeVonta Smith back into the fold after he was sidelined in the past two games with a hamstring injury.
In the same breath, Philadelphia will be without tight end Dallas Goedert, as he was placed on injured reserve on Saturday.
Despite these two moves happening on the offensive side, it was reported on Saturday that a Panthers defender who was talking smack about the Eagles fans won't be suiting up.
Jadeveon Clowney is Ruled Out for Week 14
The Panthers announced that linebacker Jadeveon Clowney has been downgraded to out with a knee injury. That even caught his head coach, Dave Canales by surprise, who was under the assumption that he was going to play.
This is a bit ironic for Clowney's case, as he was just talking trash about Eagles fans. When speaking with reporters this week, Clowney didn't have kind words to say about Philly fans.
He said, "I know they love they fans but I'm sure teams don't love their fans. We can't stand their fans. Philly fans love they team. They throw stuff at you. They talk the most junk out of anybody."
After saying these things, he won't even step on the field to back up his words. Regardless, Eagle fans who heard those remarks will let Clowney know as he stands on the sideline to support his teammates. And it may not be pretty.
