Eagles Receive Massive Dallas Goedert Injury Update Heading into Week 14

The Philadelphia Eagles have won eight straight and look like an excellent bet to extend that winning streak on Sunday when they host the Carolina Panthers. While the Eagles chase the first-round bye in the playoffs, they will have to do that without their talented tight end, Dallas Goedert.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Saturday that Goedert is headed to the injured reserve list with the knee injury he suffered in Week 13 against the Baltimore Ravens.
NFL News: Dallas Goedert Headed to IR
The Eagles can almost certainly take care of business against the Panthers without Goedert. On FanDuel Sportsbook, they are 13.5-point favorites over the 3-9 Panthers, and Grant Calcaterra, CJ Uzomah, and EJ Jenkins should be more than enough.
However, Goedert would have to miss at least three more games after Week 14 after landing on IR. That means that the earliest he could come back is against the New York Giants on the last week of the season.
If the Eagles manage to clinch the first-round bye in the next few weeks, Goedert would get additional rest before the playoffs, including in Week 18 and the first round.
This is the second extended absence of the season for Goedert. The former second-round pick missed three games earlier in the season with a hamstring injury, but the Eagles managed to go 3-0 in his absence.
Goedert is on pace to miss at least seven games this season, the most he ever had in any campaign since being drafted by the Eagles in 2018. In the nine games he played, Goedert has 38 catches, 441 yards, and two touchdowns.
