The Philadelphia Eagles have had hundreds of players walk in and out their doors throughout the franchise's nearly 100-year existence. While some of those players had iconic runs that the City of Brotherly Love will never forget, other individuals have left impacts so small that they've already been lost in the sands of time.

With that in mind, one recently failed Eagles signing who fans likely forgot about has just landed a new opportunity with one of the AFC's worst teams.

Former Eagles LB Devin White Signs With Raiders in Free Agency

On Friday afternoon, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Las Vegas Raiders have signed veteran linebacker Devin White to a one-year contract. The Raiders mark the fourth franchise that the 27-year-old defender has joined following stops in Tampa, Philadelphia, and, most recently, Houston.

If any Eagles fans forgot about White's run with the team, chances are you aren't alone. The former 2019 fifth-overall pick's tenure was over in the blink of an eye, having signed a one-year, $7.5 million contract with Philadelphia last March only to be released seven months later without playing a single snap.

White's release stemmed from a combination of an early-season injury and a bad attitude. The veteran linebacker opened the year with an ankle injury, allowing Nakobe Dean to put a stranglehold on the starting job. White's outlook became even grimmer when the former All-Pro LB voiced his displeasure with the Eagles on social media, effectively squashing any hope of sticking around.

After being sent packing by the Eagles, White signed a contract with the Texans two weeks later. He ended up making seven appearances (1 start) during the regular season, recording 15 solo tackles before being inactive for Houston's two playoff matchups.

By the time all was said and done, White finished with a 57.0 Pro Football Focus defense grade, as well as underwhelming grades when it comes to tackling (46.4) and pass rushing (37.7).

The Raiders are one of the NFL's worst teams, meaning they may have offered White the best possible path to a starting role. At the same time, he'll learn if being a starter on a bad team outweighs being a backup on a squad that eventually won the Super Bowl without his help.

Interestingly enough, the Raiders are confirmed to be one of the Eagles' 2025 home opponents. Whether or not White will be playing important snaps by then remains to be seen.

That is, if he doesn't blow up that partnership before it begins like he did in Philadelphia.
