Tuesday was an emotional day for Philadelphia Eagles fans as long-time franchise favorite Brandon Graham announced his retirement. The former Pro Bowl pass rusher spoke to the media with friends and family in attendance, making it clear how important being an Eagle was to his football journey.

Winning a second Super Bowl was the last thing Graham wanted to accomplish and now that he's achieved that, it's time for the next chapter. Although Eagles fans don't know what the future holds for the former Michigan Wolverine, one comment from his retirement conference made it clear that he doesn't want to leave the City of Brotherly Love.

Brandon Graham Wants to Keep Working With Eagles After Retirement

According to NBC Sports Philadelphia's Dave Zanagaro, Graham "plans to sit down with Jeffrey Lurie to figure out how he can help the Eagles after retirement." Zanagaro adds that the recent retiree "doesn't want to simply leave the game completely," leaving time to tell if the two sides can find a role for him.

After spending the majority of their life playing a sport, the thought of retirement can be hard on an athlete. They go from spending hours working on their craft every week, whether it's in practice or during games, to having a blank schedule in front of them. While it might be a welcomed break for some, the thought of not having a new season to look forward to can be tough on others.

The sense of being lost that retirement can bring is often why athletes try to find jobs related to their sport, whether it's with the team they played for or a new one. Fortunately, the Eagles are the only team Graham has ever played for, and it's hard imagining owner Jeffrey Lurie not figuring out something for him to do.

After all, it was only last offseason when Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made it clear he wanted Jason Kelce in the front office following the former All-Pro center's retirement. Kelce opted to become a television analyst instead, however, that isn't to say that Roseman wouldn't want to offer Graham a similar opportunity after all the experience he accumulated throughout nearly two decades on the defensive line.

At the end of the day, a potential job with the Eagles could be anything from a coach to an occasional advisor. Even showing up to land a hand at practice to talk trash to the offensive line is something that the Detroit, MI native is open to.

"I'm going to be a part of something that they got going on where I can come in and even if I'm just coming to practice, I can always tell the offensive line what I would have done if I was still out there," Graham said, per NBC Sports' Reuben Frank.

After 15 seasons in the City of Brotherly Love, Graham isn't going anywhere anytime soon — even in the wake of retirement. And, from the sound of things, it won't be long before Eagles fans see the beloved disruptor around team facilities as the NFL offseason continues.
