The 2025 NFL season schedule's rollout is finally here, although the fact that it only feels like the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl 59 yesterday. The Eagles' upcoming schedule isn't fully available at the time of writing; however, fans already know the defending champions will be opening the new campaign with a Thursday Night Football showdown against the rival Dallas Cowboys.
While a divisional game is always fun, one contest that Eagles fans are looking forward to the most is the Super Bowl rematch. The NFC East and AFC West will be going head-to-head in 2025, meaning Nick Sirianni's team will face the Kansas City Chiefs at some point this fall — the only question was when.
Eagles to Face the Chiefs in Week 2 Super Bowl Rematch
It turns out that it didn't take long for a Super Bowl 59 rematch date to be revealed once the 2025 NFL schedule started to leak.
"Eagles and Chiefs will face off in a rematch of Super Bowl LIX in Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season at Kansas City on Sunday, Sept. 14," the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane reported on Wednesday. He added the game will kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET.
Eagles fans are likely salivating at the thought of handing the Chiefs a huge loss only seven months after winning Super Bowl 59.
Even though the Chiefs had their number for a few years, the Eagles have firmly taken control of the rivalry ever since their Super Bowl 57 loss. Philadelphia responded to that defeat with a 21-17 win over Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 11 of the 2023 season before most recently notching a 40-22 victory to claim the Lombardi Trophy this past February.
The Chiefs will be fueled by revenge, but the Eagles can't allow that to make them stray away from their game plan. Philadelphia clearly proved it could handle Kansas City when it mattered the most, and the Chiefs' front office hasn't made enough significant changes to force the Eagles to do anything different come Week 2.
For now, it looks like the reigning Super Bowl Champions are on pace to head into Kansas City with some momentum on their side. The Eagles are currently the 6.5-point Week 1 favorites over the Cowboys on FanDuel Sportsbook before they head off to face the Chiefs in Week 2.
