Three keys to an Eagles victory vs the Bears in Week 12
By Jake Starr
3. Stay Grounded
As previously mentioned, this game is right smack in between two big Sunday night showdowns. The Eagles are coming off a big win over Dallas and will be traveling out west to take on Seattle next Sunday night. This is what many would consider a “trap game.”

The last time the Eagles played in what was considered a “trap game” was earlier this season against the C.J. Beathard-helmed 49ers. After coming out very slow, the Eagles cruised to a relatively easy 33-10 victory.
Philadelphia is without a doubt the better team in this game. They should be able to cruise to a relatively easy victory, but in games like this, all it takes is some weird plays by the inferior team to set up a potential upset. The Eagles cannot let that happen.
Unlike that San Francisco game, the Eagles must put the foot on the gas early and often and put the Bears away early, taking away any thought of a potential upset.
This Eagles team has done a terrific job at staying focused and not looking ahead to the next game, and that will have to be the case this week. Obviously, there is a lot to play for and much exciting football down the road for the Eagles, but they must take care of business on Sunday if they wish to secure a top seed in the NFC.

As we saw in the second half of the Dallas game, the Eagles have so much firepower on offense and big-play potential on defense that they can run teams over when they are clicking. Wentz and the offense must come out clicking and put Chicago away and the defense must capitalize on the Bears’ rookie quarterback’s mistakes.
