It’s been clear all through training camp and it was clear in every preseason game: Arryn Siposs is not the answer at punter for the Philadelphia Eagles.

What isn’t clear is why the team is waiting so long to make a change.

My best guess is that there’s someone currently on an NFL roster that the Eagles are hoping will become available after Tuesday’s 53-man roster cutdowns and that we’ll replace Siposs at that point.

Either way, the Eagles’ Week 1 punter is almost certainly not currently on the roster. So with that in mind, here are three punters that Philly should target to replace Siposs.

Top 3 Eagles Arryn Siposs Replacement Options

1. Matt Haack

The Arizona Cardinals cut Matt Haack after Nathan Cooney broke out with an incredible preseason, but that says more about how good Cooney is than it does anything negative about Haack.

Haack got the 11th-most hangtime of any punter in the NFL last season, which led to him forcing fair catches on the 8th-most punts while also putting the 3rd-most out of bounds and having the 10th-most downed.

Despite putting 30 punts inside the 20-yard line (9th-most in the NFL) he only had 3 touchbacks (23rd-most).

The Eagles aren’t expected to be punting deep from within their own territory very often, so that ability to pin opponents back with precision would fit perfectly in Philly.
