Insider Reveals Eagles' New Trade Deadline Target

The NFL Trade Deadline is still two days away, but the Philadelphia Eagles have already made a major splash. Last week they bolstered their defense by trading for Tennessee Titans safety Kevin Byard -- a two-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro.
It doesn't look like they're going to stop there, however, based on a new report from an NFL insider on Sunday morning.
The Eagles want to make another move even after adding safety and five-time Titans captain Kevin Byard. I expect Howie Roseman to be busy Monday morning. He’s poking around at linebacker.

Eagles Trade Rumors
Senior NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported on Sunday morning that Philadelphia is still looking to make another move before Tuesday's trade deadline. According to Russini, the Eagles want to add a linebacker and she expects GM Howie Roseman to be busy on Monday.
This is exciting news for Philly fans. Even though the team is 6-1 and leads the NFC East heading into Week 8, there's a general sense that the roster is not as strong as last year (when the Eagles lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl) and needs reinforcements if it wants to get over the hump.
While Philly is still a good team, some obvious problem areas have emerged during the first half of the season. The team's defense is noticeably weaker this year, ranking 14th in points per game allowed after ranking eighth last year. Issues in the secondary have been a major reason for that, as the Eagles rank 28th in both interceptions and passing touchdowns allowed per game.
Byard should help in that regard, but one player can't turn a defense around by himself. He'll improve the back end of the unit, but a linebacker would help strengthen the soft middle as well.
Accordingly, don't be surprised if Roseman stays aggressive and makes another major trade before the deadline.
