We are only two days away from the 2024 NFL Draft and like every fanbase, Eagles fans are eagerly waiting for the moment their team is on the clock. However, when it will be Philadelphia's turn to select may still be uncertain.

As recently reported by Jordan Reid on ESPN, the Eagles are looking to trade up from their No. 22 pick in the first round. They are reportedly targeting a cornerback or an offensive tackle who might not be there for them at No. 22. One trade idea that was floated by Reid was with the Denver Broncos, where the Eagles sent their first-round pick, as well as No. 50 and No. 161 to get Denver's 12th-overall pick.

It looks like the chances of that scenario just increased.

The Broncos decided to trade for Zach Wilson from the New York Jets on Monday. Giving Wilson a second chance to revive his career, Denver is presumably less likely to draft a quarterback with their No. 12 pick.

This not only reduces the likelihood of the Broncos keeping their pick, but it also means that they will not trade up. This gives the Eagles more leverage in trade negotiations with Denver and with other teams picking ahead of them. For a team that is in the very early stages of a rebuild like the Broncos, adding more draft picks and taking on more flyers on prospects for the cost of moving down in the first round makes a ton of sense.

Whether Eagles GM Howie Roseman takes advantage of this leverage remains to be seen. It will depend on the intel Philadelphia has about the intentions of teams picking ahead of them. If they think one of their primary targets like Cooper DeJean is going to be there for them at No. 22, they will likely keep their powder dry instead of trading up.

FanDuel Sportsbook has odds for which position the Eagles will draft their first player. Cornerback (+115) is understandably the favorite with defensive lineman/edge coming in close second at +185.
