The Philadelphia Eagles will play their final preseason game this summer on Friday night against the New York Jets.

After this last exhibition contest, the Eagles will go into regular-season mode, as they prepare to face the Dallas Cowboys to kick off Week 1. However, the Eagles must get through the finale, which is important for several players on the 90-man roster trying to make the 53-man or practice squad.

Along those same lines, Philadelphia is giving a rookie defensive end a chance to get some snaps and make an impression on the coaching staff.

It’s not far-fetched to see teams sign players during the last week of preseason. In fact, earlier this week, the Eagles signed linebacker Chance Campbell, who they brought in for a workout.

Eagles Add Jereme Robinson to 90-Man Roster Before 3rd Preseason Game

On Friday morning, the Eagles announced that they signed rookie free agent Jereme Robinson ahead of the preseason finale against the Jets.

The 25-year-old Robinson most recently played with the New England Patriots, who cut him on Aug. 19. The rookie defensive end suited up in the Pats’ second preseason game, but he only played two special teams snaps.

Robinson initially joined the Patriots on Aug. 10, so he didn’t get a long leash to prove himself to their coaching staff. The young defensive lineman was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chicago Bears following the 2025 NFL draft.

The former Kansas Jayhawks defender was sent packing by the Bears at the start of training camp in July. Given that he’s just joining the Eagles, the best Robinson can do is show some flashes and provide depth.

The rookie free agent won’t make Philadelphia’s 53-man roster, as there are other guys on the D-line competing for spots. But since he’s at least played in the preseason, Robinson could find his way onto the practice squad next week.

During his collegiate career with the Jayhawks, the 6-foot-3, 263-pound defender racked up 98 combined tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, six pass deflections, five forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries across 53 games. Robinson has been gifted an opportunity on short notice; let’s see what he can do if he gets into the game.
