As Super Bowl 59 quickly approaches, Philadelphia Eagles fans are wondering if star defender Jalen Carter will be healthy enough to face the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.

The first-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle has been dealing with an illness throughout the week. The ailment has kept Carter away from media interviews and even limited his participation in Wednesday's practice session. Considering how important he is to the Eagles' defensive success, the fanbase's concerns are more than warranted.

So, what did the Eagles have to say about Carter's Super Bowl status on Friday?

Eagles Injury Update: Jalen Carter Feeling "Much Better" Following Illness News

On Friday afternoon, Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane shared quite a promising injury update that Eagles fans will be happy to hear.

"Hearing that Eagles DT Jalen Carter is feeling much better, along with several other players and coaches," McLane posted on X, adding that the 23-year-old defender was a full practice participant on Thursday.

A team-wide illness is never a good thing, especially with less than a week to go before the Super Bowl. Fortunately, it looks like the Eagles did a good job of mitigating the spread and should be mostly free of any sickness by Sunday.

Carter has been one of the Eagles' most impactful players on either side of the ball this season, so it's great to hear that he's on track to face the Chiefs. The former Georgia Bull Dog is currently Pro Football Focus' No. 14-graded interior defender and even ranks fourth at his position with an 84.9 pass rush grade.

He's continued making an impact into the postseason, proven by his playoff defense grade (76.9) being higher than his regular-season mark (74.1).

Unlike when they last faced the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, the Eagles will have Carter in the lineup this time around (barring any unforeseen circumstances). If he's healthy and plays to his potential, it wouldn't be shocking if one of his plays ultimately decides the game.

After all, Carter currently holds the best Super Bowl MVP odds (+10000) among all Eagles defenders on FanDuel Sportsbook just two days before the clash with the Chiefs.
