Philadelphia Eagles 7-round mock draft: Moving back up into the top 10
By David Esser
The 2021 NFL Draft is just over a week away, which means we have just enough time for 1-2 final mock drafts for what projects to be a fairly busy few days for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles, owning 11 total draft picks this year, are tied with the Minnesota Vikings for the most amount of picks in this year’s selection process. Throw in the fact that Howie Roseman is never one to sit around and “stay put” when it comes to draft picks, and exploring as many outcomes as possible heading into the process is definitely worth doing.

It’s been talked about nonstop for the past two weeks, but it sounds like Roseman and the Eagles are considering a move back into the top 10, after previously trading out of it. While this might seem confusing upon first glance, pulling off such a maneuver would actually be a rather advantageous plan of action for the Eagles.
While trading up to land someone like Ja’Marr Chase or Kyle Pitts (should either one slip out of the top six) is the ultimate dream, the more likely scenario is Philly jumping up just a few spots to get first dibs at a new CB.
During this particular mock simulation, Patrick Surtain II was still on the board by the time the Denver Broncos were on the clock at 9, and I felt quite inclined to pull the trigger on leapfrogging the Dallas Cowboys (10) for the highly rated SEC corner.
I packaged 12 and 70 to move up three spots, landing the Eagles their CB1 of the future while simultaneously keeping him out of Jerry Jones’ hands. A rather small price to pay considering the Eagles got a future first-round pick from Miami to go from 6 to 12 in the first place.
