According to a report made by The Athletic’s Ben Standig, the Philadelphia Eagles have been exploring the possibility of moving back into the top 10 of this year’s NFL Draft. This shouldn’t come across as super surprising – Howie Roseman is someone who likes moving up and down the draft board, and the Eagles could definitely use a “blue chip” caliber prospect.

While the Eagles were obviously initially set to pick sixth overall prior to their trade-down with the Miami Dolphins, they could probably move up a few spots to pick 7, 8, or 9 – at a relatively cheap cost.

Snagging that future first-round pick from Miami was extremely valuable, and it shouldn’t require the same level of assets to jump back into the top 10 from pick 12.

Who are the Philadelphia Eagles eyeing in the top 10?

More from Section 215

While the rumors are nothing more than just rumors at the moment, it’s worth taking a look at some of the players Roseman could be targeting with a potential trade back up into the top 10:

Ja’Marr Chase/Kyle Pitts

The two names that Eagles fans have been salivating over for months, snagging one of either Ja’Marr Chase or Kyle Pitts at pick 7-9 would be a pretty sweet deal for Philadelphia. Not only would they have obtained an extra 2022 first-rounder from Miami, but they’d be walking out of this year’s draft with an elite pass-catcher.

With that said, the odds of either player falling out of the top six are little to none.

Not only have both the Bengals and Falcons been increasingly linked to Chase and Pitts, but the general consensus is that Miami so aggressively traded up to land one of the elite pass-catchers for their own young QB in Tua Tagovailoa.

Both players are worth mentioning on a list like this, but I definitely wouldn’t hold your breath in regards to Chase/Pitts wearing midnight green next season. That ship likely sailed when Roseman traded out of the 6th spot.
