Joe Douglas has a ton of draft picks, and he’s best buds with Howie.

What would a hypothetical Eagles trade piece be without including Joe Douglas and the Jets?

Despite routinely being linked to the Philadelphia Eagles during any sort of trade rumor frenzy, the Douglas-led Jets have yet to actually partake in any business with the Roseman-led Eagles. The two teams were heavily connected during the draft revolving around Andre Dillard, and a potential Alshon Jeffery swap has been rumored in the past as well.

However, despite the unique connection that the two front offices share, nothing has every been completed.

With that said, the Jets are still a team who would likely pick up the phone regarding an Ertz trade. Douglas is very familiar with just how good Ertz can be when playing at 100%, and he has a whole war chest of draft picks that he could be willing to part with (from the Jamal Adams trade). Whether it’s with Sam Darnold or a future rookie QB, having a sure-handed and reliable TE is definitely a luxury worth investing into.

Even with the Jets “rebuilding” once more, having a cornerstone piece to their passing attack in Ertz would do wonders for whoever their franchise QB ends up being.
