Who will make it onto the Philadelphia Eagles final 53-man roster?
As we inch closer to the deadline for final roster cuts, the Philadelphia Eagles have some interesting decisions to make. By Saturday at 4 PM, the Eagles need to cut this roster down to 53. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, players have had practices, snaps, and the entire preseason taken away from them this offseason.
This doesn’t even include the injuries and opt-outs that have taken place. With an offseason like no other, the Philadelphia Eagles have difficult decisions to make in getting their roster down to the final 53, and ready for Week 1.

Quarterback: Carson Wentz, Jalen Hurts, Nate Sudfeld (3)

This position group seems like it is very straight forward and won’t have any changes before Week 1. Carson Wentz heads into his fifth year as the Eagles starting quarterback, and no one in the quarterback room will change that in 2020. Wentz has also been in the weight room this offseason and added some muscle, leading to his teammates joking with him and his “dad strength.”
Rookie Jalen Hurts was drafted in the second round of this year’s draft, to learn and develop in the quarterback room and be the long-term back up for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Hurts provides versatility and incredible athleticism to the team, and when he isn’t getting snaps in passing plays, he could be in the game for short yardage situations.
Nate Sudfeld rounds out the quarterbacks as he returns on a one-year deal for 2020. Nate is expected to be the backup quarterback for 2020 and will continue to develop with another year in this system.
