4. Andrew McCutchen

It’s crazy how quickly things can change in professional sports when seeing how Andrew McCutchen was considered a strong MVP candidate a few years ago to a player who still puts up great numbers, but seems capable of doing more.

Last winter, McCutchen was traded from the Pittsburgh Pirates to the San Francisco Giants, who ended up trading the outfielder to the New York Yankees right before September to give them a better chance of competing in the postseason.

Throughout his career, McCutchen has always been one of those players who becomes an immediate threat each time he gets on base since his speed makes stealing bases look easy at times.

Looking at the Phillies, it’s easy to make a strong case that McCutchen would be a great fit when seeing how tough it was at times for this team to put up runs on a consistent basis during the 2018 season.

Plus, it should also be noted that McCutchen has hit at least 20 home runs in eight seasons in a row, which just makes the outfielder even more intriguing of an option. But similar to the situation with Pollock, McCutchen seems like another one of those long shot options when looking at the other teams that will be expressing heavy interest as well.
