1. New Orleans Saints

Another week, another strong case by the New Orleans Saints when it comes to making a statement about being the team to beat in the NFC when looking at how easy they made it seem during their win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

More from Section 215

After scoring 96 points during their previous two games that resulted in wins over the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals, the Saints managed to take advantage of a banged-up Eagles’ defense by putting up 48 points in Week 11.

With nine wins in a row since that embarrassing loss on opening weekend to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans is playing with all sorts of confidence at the moment with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Since the Saints own the tiebreaker over the Rams as a result of their head-to-head win, Sean Payton’s team has their eyes set on earning that top seed in the NFC playoff picture.

If that does end up happening, one can only imagine how tough it’s going to be for the rest of the teams in the NFC with New Orleans continuing to find ways to get better each week. Also, with Drew Brees finishing with four more touchdown passes, there’s no question he deserves to be part of the MVP conversation, even if he trails Patrick Mahomes II and Todd Gurley at the moment.
