4. Butler has valuable playoff experience

Even though Butler only appeared in five games for the Timberwolves in the playoffs last season, Sixers fans just need to look at his experience from his playing days with the Bulls to know how valuable this addition can be by the time spring rolls around. As great as it was to see Philadelphia earn a trip to the playoffs last year that consisted of a first-round win over the Heat before falling to the Celtics, it was no secret that Simmons, Embiid, and the rest of the Sixers were inexperienced for the most part.

Losing to Boston in the semifinals was a tough pill to swallow for Philadelphia since it was pretty clear that with another superstar, there’s a good chance they would have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Just look at how close some of those games ended up being against Celtics, and it’s easy to see why the Sixers were so frustrated, because deep down the team knew this was a winnable series. Now that Butler is on board with plenty of playoff experience, Philadelphia will be in a much better position for the postseason when the time comes down the road, and hopefully see better results instead of an early elimination in the semifinals.
