Don’t look now, but the addition of Butler joining Simmons and Embiid to provide Philadelphia their own version of the Big Three just took expectations to a whole new level for this team, if they weren’t high enough already. Even more exciting, when looking at the defensive skills that Butler will be bringing to the team along with the talent the Sixers already had in Simmons and Embiid, one can only imagine the potential surrounding this team moving forward.

As basketball fans know, the league in general is loaded with plenty of high-powered offensive teams, meaning the best way to battle for a championship may come down to how things go on the defensive side. Whether it happens to be the possibility of facing the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals or simply getting through the Eastern Conference against other teams like the Raptors or Celtics, Philadelphia’s defense all of a sudden becomes a key factor.

One can only imagine how difficult it’s going to be for opponents to put up points each time they face the Sixers, but also this means the team needs to make sure they put up the necessary points as well.
