5. Eagles see Brady all of first half

When looking at the history over the years of Tom Brady playing in the preseason, the last thing the Eagles would have expected was the future Hall of Famer to play the entire first half on Thursday, but he did. For a player his age, the decision by New England to go with Brady for two quarters when he already knows what his quarterback is capable seems risky, but luckily it all turned out to be just fine.

As expected, Brady looked like his usual self in action against the Eagles after completing 19 of 26 passes for 172 yards with two touchdowns, showing once again why there really wasn’t a need for him to be playing since he looks like his normal self. But at least from New England’s perspective, it’s always reassuring to see their beloved quarterback avoiding any signs of slowing down since he seems capable of still playing for another few years.

For the Eagles’ defense, this ended up being quite a surprise test to see how the unit looked against one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game in Brady. Maybe next time, Philadelphia will be able to keep Brady more in check instead of allowing him to pick apart the defense, like he does for most opponents.
