The Philadelphia Eagles captured their first-ever Super Bowl championship with a 41-33 win over the New England Patriots.

Myself, like many others, could sit here and analyze what went down in the Philadelphia Eagles 41-33 win over the New England Patriots for hours, but why bother? All that matters is the Eagles scored more points than New England.

As surreal as it feels to say, the Eagles are Super Bowl champions! 58 years since their last championship, the Eagles are finally back on top of the world. This is a night that no Eagles fan will ever forget for the rest of their lives. A celebration that will be bigger than anything Philadelphia has ever seen.

The fanbase that has heard flak year after year about how they have never won the Lombardi trophy finally has one of their own to bring back to Philadelphia. Every disappointment Eagles fans had gone through over the years can finally diminish.

Thoughts of three straight championship game losses, a bitter Super Bowl loss, losing in the 2009 NFC Championship are all gone for good. Those can be replaced with the cherishable memories of Zach Ertz lunging for the end zone, Brandon Graham‘s strip sack, and the ball getting knocked down on the last play of the game. The Eagles at long last are Super Bowl champions!

When that clock struck zero, tears flowed, friends and families embraced, and so many people finally got to witness what they waited a lifetime for. Legendary Eagles broadcaster Merill Reese finally got him moment 41 years in the making just like Harry Kalas did in 2008.

There have been championships in this city, but none of them will ever be the magnitude of this one. This town bleeds green and finally can rejoice on the top of the mountain. And what a night it was and what a celebration it will be!

What a night it was. A night that played with your nerves until that clock struck zero. From excitement to despair, to absolute elation. The typical nervous rollercoaster we go through every game was there but it was amped up being on the biggest stage of all.

Every Nick Foles perfect throw and every Doug Pederson risky call gave us nerves but in the end, led to absolute jubilation. And when the Patriots continued to march down the field in the second half, the nerves ramped up and many could feel a pit in their stomach wondering if New England would do it again.

But in the end, all of that didn’t matter. All that mattered was could the Eagles make one big play, and after failing to slow down Tom Brady all night, the Eagles defense made one play and only one sack, but it was the biggest play in the history of the Eagles franchise.

Just about ten minutes after that strip sack, the clock struck zero and at long last, the Eagles were Super Bowl champions. A moment that will be remembered for the rest of our lives. A moment no city deserves more than the great city of Philadelphia.

For the fans, this is for us. We have been there every step of the way and were there for so many tough moments in the history of this franchise. No fan base deserves this more than us and we will enjoy this for a very long time.

For Merill Reese and Ray Didinger who have waited a lifetime to get this opportunity, and two of the most loved and respected people in Philadelphia finally get to rejoice in a championship.

The coaches who just kept going even though player after player continued to drop. But nothing fazed them and they weren’t going to let anything get in the way of this special season.

The players who made this possible, every one of them. From those who couldn’t suit up to those who stepped up when their numbers were called. Those guys who were doubted all year and wore that chip on their shoulder proudly.

And to the underdogs. There is nothing left to doubt from anyone nationwide. All the critics have been proven wrong because the underdogs are now the top dogs.
