Philadelphia Eagles complete historic run as Super Bowl LII champions

Despite being underdogs once again, the Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl in franchise history after defeating the New England Patriots.

Ever since Carson Wentz went down with a torn ACL in the middle of December, there weren’t many football fans that believed the Philadelphia Eagles were capable of pulling off a Super Bowl run with Nick Foles at quarterback. Turns out, Foles and the Eagles had what it takes all along after topping off their incredible run as underdogs by taking down the defending champions in the New England Patriots when it mattered the most in Super Bowl LII.

After Foles put together one of the best performances of his career in the NFC Championship against the Minnesota Vikings, the quarterback took his game to a whole new level when it mattered the most against New England to help Philadelphia earn the 41-33 win. Not only did Foles complete 28 of 43 passes for 373 yards to go along with three touchdowns, but he also happened to haul in a key touchdown pass right before halftime on a clutch fourth-and-goal play from the one-yard line with less than a minute remaining.

Never in a million years could Eagles fans ever have imagined that Foles of all quarterbacks would be the one who led the team to their first Super Bowl title in franchise history, but here they are celebrating what ended up being a historic run in the postseason. Even when Philadelphia locked up the No. 1 seed in the NFC, everybody assumed this team would be one-and-done come January since Foles didn’t seem capable of leading this offense.
