Did Devin Booker hint on Twitter he wants 76ers to trade Jahlil Okafor to Suns?
By Dan Parzych
A recent tweet by Devin Booker has brought up the possibility of whether the Phoenix Suns would ever consider trading for Jahlil Okafor from the Philadelphia 76ers.
At the beginning of November, rumors are swirling over the possibility of the Philadelphia 76ers sending Jahlil Okafor to the Phoenix Suns in a trade since the center appears to be unhappy in the City of Brotherly Love. Unfortunately, when looking at all of the big men on the roster for the Sixers, the former Duke star has been the odd man out this season when it comes to receiving playing time.

In fact, seeing that Okafor has only appeared in two games so far this year is just one of numerous reasons as to why he’s feeling all of the frustration with his role. And while Philadelphia may not see him as a good fit on the roster, everybody is wondering if a recent tweet by Phoenix’s Devin Booker is an indication he would welcome Okafor as a teammate with open arms.
From Booker’s Twitter:
Similar to the Sixers over the last couple of years before the 2017-18 season, the Suns are going through a bit of rebuilding of their own while they continue to develop the younger talent on their roster, including Booker. As for whether Okafor could eventually be part of that development process in Phoenix, it seems like only a matter of time before Philadelphia ends up having to bite the bullet by pulling off a trade with their center.

Keep in mind that it wasn’t too long ago in which the Suns expressed some interest in the possibility of Okafor joining the team, and at this point, the wise move for the Sixers to take whatever offer they get. Between Okafor constantly expressing his frustration over lack of opportunities to Philadelphia passing on buyout opportunities, a trade seems like the best option for both parties at this point.
Even if Booker’s tweet wasn’t intentionally posted as a recruiting method, it’s safe to say the shooting guard would love to see Okafor as part of the rebuilding process for the Suns. Who knows, maybe this recent post by Booker along with Okafor constantly expressing his interest to end up elsewhere will finally get trade talks going against for the Sixers since this entire situation just keeps dragging on by the day.
