4. C.J. Uzomah

The Eagles will likely not re-sign Uzomah as they have their three tight ends in Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, and E.J. Jenkins. Philadelphia could consider taking a tight end in the 2025 NFL Draft with Goedert getting banged up over the last two seasons, but that’s another story for a different day.

Uzomah had his 2024 season end abruptly ahead of the Eagles’ regular-season finale as he was placed on injured reserve. The veteran tight end played in seven games for Philadelphia and saw 12 percent of offensive snaps.

Throughout his 10-year career, Uzomah has been known more for his pass-catching skills but didn’t do any of that with the Eagles. The veteran pass catcher initially joined the team in April after being released by the New York Jets.

The former Cincinnati Bengals tight end spent two seasons with the Jets, where he wasn’t much of a factor in the passing game. Uzomah had 29 receptions (39 targets) for 290 yards and three touchdowns.

Uzomah joined Philadelphia for training camp and preseason but didn’t make the initial 53-man roster in August. However, the Eagles found a way to bring him back, signing Uzomah to the practice squad in October.

From there, the Eagles elevated Uzomah multiple times from the practice squad to the active roster before signing him to the 53-man in early December, which was around the same time that Goedert was placed on injured reserve.

Even though Uzomah didn’t get any targets in the passing game, he did help in the blocking department, which the Eagles missed with Goedert. With Uzomah set to turn 32 years old, it will be interesting to see where his NFL career takes him next.
