The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles held their annual rookie minicamp over the weekend for their 2025 draft class, undrafted free agents, and rookie/invite tryouts.
For Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and the coaching staff, it was their first look at rookies who could be instant contributors in the regular season or push for a spot on the 53-man roster. With the rookie minicamp only being a three-day event, players don’t have much time to make a big impression on the coaches.
However, one rookie is already making some noise at minicamp and could be someone to watch out for throughout the rest of the offseason.
According to Andrew DiCecco of InsideTheBirds.com, former University of Washington wide receiver Giles Jackson had a strong showing. The Eagles signed Jackson on Sunday to the 90-man roster and waived running back Tyrion Davis-Price.
As far as the tryout participants at #Eagles rookie minicamp, I’m told Washington WR Giles Jackson had a strong showing.

Last week, the University of Washington announced that Jackson signed with the Eagles after the 2025 NFL Draft, but Philadelphia didn’t officially make the move until Sunday.
The 5-foot-8 wide receiver has an uphill climb to make the 53-man roster as the Eagles have A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, Ainias Smith, and Johnny Wilson Jr. However, with his special-teams abilities as a returner, Jackson could find his way on the roster, which could knock Smith off the roster, for example.
Jackson began his collegiate career at the University of Michigan, spending two years with the Wolverines. After the 2020 season, the former four-star prospect took his talents to the Pacific Northwest.
The 5-foot-8 wideout had a quiet first three years with the Huskies, but took a huge leap and became an integral part of their passing game last season. Jackson had 85 receptions for 853 yards and seven scores.
Over the last few years in Philadelphia, Eagles fans have been focused on who will be the WR3 in the regular season. However, an intriguing battle could develop on the latter part of the WR depth chart that might be worth watching this summer.
