The Philadelphia Eagles made a notable move on the 90-man roster on the last day of rookie minicamp. On Sunday, the Eagles announced that they waived running back Tyrion Davis-Price and signed rookie wide receiver Giles Jackson.

It’s not a shock that the Eagles parted ways with Davis-Price, as they signed two undrafted free agent running backs following the draft (Montrell Johnson and Shunderrick Powell).
Earlier this week, the University of Washington announced that Jackson had signed with the club. However, when the Eagles unveiled their UDFA class on Friday, the former Washington Huskies wideout wasn’t among the nine players listed.
Jackson will look to earn a spot on the 53-man roster this summer after a solid 2024 campaign with the Huskies (insert stats). As for Davis-Price, the 24-year-old running back will look to latch on with a new team before training camp begins in July.
The Eagles initially signed the former San Francisco 49ers draft pick to a reserve/future deal in January 2024 following the 2023 season. Davis-Price participated in training camp with Philly last year, but didn’t make the 53-man roster.
The Eagles cut Davis-Price and immediately signed him to the practice squad. The former LSU running back was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad on Dec. 28, 2024, ahead of the Eagles’ Week 17 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Davis-Price had seven rushing yards on three carries in Philadelphia’s 41-7 blowout win over the Cowboys. After getting a quick appearance in Week 17, the Eagles put him back on the practice squad.
Davis-Price was signed to another future/reserve deal in February after the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. The now ex-Eagles running back will try to land a workout with another NFL team.
It might be hard for Davis-Price to do so, as many NFL teams want to see what their undrafted free agents and tryout/invite players have to offer this month.
