The Philadelphia Eagles are entering their third week of training camp, and battles are happening all over the field at several positions.
Philadelphia saw multiple players leave this offseason, including cornerback Darius Slay, who signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It left a void in the secondary and led to the Eagles making additions, and one included Adoree' Jackson.
The vet received some praise from defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who said he's having a "good camp." This comes one week after Fangio said Jackson needed to step things up.

Eagles DC Vic Fangio Shouts Out Adoree Jackson
Per John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Fangio stated on July 29, "I don't know if I think it's the place. I think it's time for him to show that. In Tennessee, when it came time to re-sign him after his contract was up, they didn't. The Giants, his contract was up, they didn't. It's time to show who he is or who he isn't."
He also added that Jackson has played good ball in his career, and it appears the vet took Fangio's words to heart and has elevated his play.
This is exactly what fans and members of the organization want to see. Philadelphia brought him in on a one-year, $1.75 million deal. That's essentially a prove-it deal, and if he doesn't step up to the plate, the Eagles will easily move on with no financial restraints holding them back.
Jackson is heading into his ninth year in the NFL and has a lot of starting experience under his belt. Between the Tennessee Titans and the New York Giants, he has appeared in 97 games with 82 starts. In those outings, he compiled 404 total tackles, 61 pass deflections, six forced fumbles, and four picks.
Despite starting 10-plus games in six seasons, Jackson is fighting for the only available spot in the secondary. Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean have locked down two starting spots after standout rookie campaigns.
That leaves Jackson's room for error pretty small, especially since Kelee Ringo has had a solid summer himself. Fangio said that the competition between those two guys is close, and preseason is where they can separate themselves.
Thursday's preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals could be the first time fans can see who begins to take a step ahead in the battle, but Fangio made it clear that Jackson has played well after calling him out earlier in camp.
