One of the biggest battles in Philadelphia Eagles training camp is the fight for the CB2 spot. Third-year cornerback Kelee Ringo began camp with the first team, but was bumped down to the second string after struggling. As a result, veteran Adoree' Jackson took over the CB.2 role.
However, the battle is seemingly far from over. Following Tuesday's practice, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio shared some strong words on Jackson proving he deserves to play with the Eagles.

Eagles DC Vic Fangio Shares Early Evaluation of CB Adoree' Jackson
According to John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Fangio said, "I don't know if I think it's the place. I think it's time for him to show that. In Tennessee, when it came time to re-sign him after his contract was up, they didn't. The Giants, his contract was up, they didn't. It's time to show who he is or who he isn't."
He added, "He's played a good bit of ball, but I think this is the place where he's got to show who he is and be the player hopefully that people have always thought he could be." Though Fangio's comments seem harsh, they also show he believes in Jackson.
Eagles fans should be optimistic, yet slightly wary after Fangio's comments. Jackson has been a solid cornerback throughout eight NFL seasons. In eight years, the 29-year-old has played in 97 games (82 starts), recording 404 tackles, 61 passes defensed, four interceptions and three forced fumbles.
Furthermore, in six of his eight seasons, he has recorded a grade of 68.0 or higher in pass coverage, according to PFF. Even so, as Fangio mentions, Jackson has had trouble staying with teams. Though Jackson did receive a second contract from the Giants, it was only a one-year deal, meaning they didn't want to commit to him.
That said, Fangio has been able to maximize players as highly drafted as Jackson was. The 29-year-old was a first-round pick in 2017. His talent, paired with Fangio, should be able to help the Eagles' cornerbacks remain dominant in 2025.
Therefore, if Jackson can keep putting together good training camp practices, he will earn the starting job. If he fails to achieve this, Philadelphia's cornerback room will have a huge hole in 2025.
