Super Bowl LIX champion linebacker Nicholas Morrow remains unsigned after a workout with the division rival Washington Commanders.
On Monday, the Commanders announced they had signed former Miami Dolphins linebacker Duke Riley and released linebacker Dominique Hampton in a corresponding move.
The previous day, NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported that Washington had brought Morrow in for a workout along with Riley and several other linebackers following the team's 48-18 preseason Week 1 loss to the New England Patriots.
The #Commanders worked out a group of 14 players today, including veteran LBs Nicholas Morrow, Tanner Muse, Duke Riley, Sione Takitaki and Oshane Ximenes.

An Eventual Reunion With Eagles Can't Be Ruled Out
The Eagles are set at middle linebacker, with 2024 first-team All-Pro Zack Baun returning after signing a three-year, $51 million contract in free agency.
Jeremiah Trotter is expected to start while Nakobe Dean (torn patellar tendon) rehabs from his January 13 injury, which comes with a 9-12 month recovery timeline.
Jihaad Campbell, the No. 31 overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, and Smael Mondon are also considered "locks" to make the Eagles' 53-man roster, per the Philly Voice, while Dallas Gant and Lance Dixon are labeled as longshots.
But if the Eagles experience attrition at the position before Dean returns, Morrow could be a name to watch as a stopgap option.
He appeared in 15 games (12 starts) for the Eagles in 2023, ending the year with 95 tackles, three sacks, two fumble recoveries, and a safety. Morrow signed with the Buffalo Bills during 2024 free agency but was released twice, first in early December andagain before the postseason began.
The seven-year veteran signed with the Eagles ahead of the divisional round following Dean's injury, and primarily played special teams. Oren Burks, who filled in for Dean on the first unit en route to the Super Bowl victory, joined the Cincinnati Bengals in free agency.
It might be a while before Morrow is back on an NFL roster, but at least for the Eagles, they won't have to worry about him imparting some of their championship DNA onto their toughest NFC East competition.
