The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-2 for the season after an up-and-down start to the season. The team hasn't played up to expectations on either end of the field, ranking 18th offensively and 14th defensively.

GM Howie Roseman's offseason moves haven't particularly panned out besides Saquon Barkley. The free agent additions like Bryce Huff and C.J. Gardner-Johnson, as well as trading for Jahan Dotson haven't produced the results Eagles fans were hoping for.

The defensive unit under Vic Fangio has struggled to put pressure on the quarterback, ranking near the bottom of the league in most metrics, including sacks and QB pressures. Bryce Huff disappointing so far has played a huge part there, forcing Brandon Graham to play more snaps than the Eagles would prefer at this stage of his career.

As a result, a real need for more talent in the pass rush has emerged. Eagles insider Eliot Shorr-Parks threw out two potential trade targets that should excite the fanbase. In a thought exercise about the trade deadline, Shorr-Parks discussed whether the Eagles should be trading a first-round pick plus another valuable asset for Myles Garrett or Maxx Crosby.

Eagles Rumors: Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby Mentioned As Potential Trade Targets

The answer to that question is obviously yes. If either player is available via a trade, any contender with a need for defensive upgrades needs to make an offer.

Garrett and Crosby have long been two of the best edge defenders in the league. They are a one-man wrecking crew that the offenses need to prepare specifically for. They bend the game in their team's favor in a massive way.

The real question is whether the Raiders and the Browns are ready to part ways with the best players on their team. On paper, neither team is going anywhere, and getting an extra first and a second-rounder for a rebuilding team could be very important. However, moving on from stars of that caliber mid-season is a difficult decision to explain to your already depressed fanbase. Whether those two front offices will have the stomach to do that remains to be seen.
