Recently Cut Eagle Quickly Finds Home Ahead of Week 11

Eagles fans received much-anticipated news on Wednesday about their standout offensive lineman Jordan Mailata. The team officially activated star left tackle ahead of their crucial Week 11 clash against the Commanders.
Unfortunately, however, they had to make a dreaded roster move to make room for Mailata. The Eagles waived fan-favorite tight end Jack Stoll on Tuesday to create space in the 53-man roster.
The good news is that it didn't take Stoll too long to find his new NFL home. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Miami Dolphins claimed Stoll off waivers.
NFL News: Dolphins Claim Former Eagle TE Jack Stoll off Waivers
The decision to release Stoll wasn't particularly surprising. The Eagles are fully healthy in their tight end and wide receiver rooms now, and they don't need the extra body. Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra will continue to take the lion's share of snaps at tight end, while E.J. Jenkins, and C.J. Uzomah will be emergency options off the practice squad.
After spending the first three seasons of his career in Philadelphia, Stoll signed with the Giants in the 2024 offseason. When he couldn't make the cut before the season, the Eagles signed him to the practice squad before promoting him to the active roster. Appearing in seven games this season, Stoll had two catches for 10 yards for the Eagles, while also playing a role on special teams.
The Dolphins have Jonnu Smith, Julian Hill, and Durham Smythe as their tight-end rotation. Stoll will wait for his chance in that crowded room on the 3-6 Miami whose season is close to spiraling out of control.
