The Philadelphia Eagles own a 7-2 record and have a big-time contest against the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football. They have notched a five-game win streak and have a chance to move into first place with a win in Week 11.

The preparation for this tilt has begun but the Eagles made a roster move on Tuesday. This signals that a key starter is on the verge of returning to action.

Eagles News: Philadelphia Let Go of Jack Stoll on Tuesday

Per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Eagles waived tight end Jack Stoll from their 53-man roster. That bodes well for offensive tackle Jordan Mailata's return, as Philadelphia opened up his practice window on Monday.

The team now has 21 days to activate him to the active roster or shut him down for the year. Mailata injured his hamstring in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns, and that landed him on IR.

The arrow is trending up for his return and he is one of the best players in his position. In 2024, he has the third-highest offensive tackle in the NFL, per PFF, with an 88.4 overall grade.

With a short week, the Eagles will have to see how Mailata's hamstring reacts to increased workload in practice, but there is a chance he'll be on the field on Thursday night. He was a full participant during Monday's practice, which is a great sign.

Mailata was playing at an All-Pro level prior to going down with the injury, so getting him back on the field will be a massive boost. We'll have to keep a close eye on the injury report but things are looking good for the 27-year-old.
