There aren't many other teams in the NFL who have been more aggressive than the Philadelphia Eagles. They made it a mission to bring new playmakers to both sides of the ball.

Philly has also shelved out massive extensions to both A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith to lock down their two wide receivers for the long haul. Just last week they traded for Jahan Dotson to bolster the wide receiver corp and now have a loaded room.

With the regular season starting on Sept. 6 against the Green Bay Packers in Brazil, one receiver's status is in doubt to start the season.

Eagles News: Ainias Smith Dealing with Some Injuries

Per Ian Rapoport, rookie receiver Ainias Smith started dealing with some discomfort in his ankle and hamstring following Saturday's preseason tilt against the Minnesota Vikings. He will be getting an MRI and now his availability to start the season has some serious questions.

The Eagles selected Smith in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The Texas A&M product typically wins with speed, quickness, and agility so having lower body injuries isn't ideal.

During the preseason, the 23-year-old had eight catches (12 targets) for 43 yards and 5.4 yards per reception.

Smith is already behind Devonta Smith, Brown, Dotson, and Parris Campbell on the depth chart so missing an extended period of time isn't the way he wanted to start his rookie campaign.

In his collegiate career at Texas A&M, he finished with 180 receptions for 2,407 receiving yards, and 19 touchdowns, highlighting his ability to make plays as a pass catcher. Now he'll have to figure out the severity of his injuries before attacking rehab to return to the field.
