The Philadelphia 76ers have been one of the most aggressive teams in the offseason. After having a lackluster ending to the 2023-24 season, Daryl Morey made sure to add some much-needed additions to the roster.

They gave Maxey a four-year, $204 million extension and that was just the start. They added Paul George, Caleb Martin, Eric Gordon, Andre Drummond, and Jared McCain to raise the floor of the roster.

Now they are expected to be one of the biggest threats in the Eastern Conference.

76ers fans are chomping at the bit to see this team on the floor but the latest trade proposal has Philadelphia adding a fourth star to an already loaded roster.

John Hollinger of The Athletic has come up with some hypothetical trade packages around the league.

In his article, he has Philadelphia acquiring Utah forward Lauri Markkanen via sign and trade. The package goes as follows:

Philadelphia: Lauri Markkanen

Utah: Kenyon Martin, Ricky Council IV, and four first-round picks (2026, 2028, 2029, 2031).

If the 76ers were able to acquire Markkanen, they would have a legitimate chance to be the best team in the NBA.

First off, Markkanen is only slated to make $18 million during the 2024-25 season, which is a steal. The 27-year-old is a seven-footer who can score from all three levels with ease while being a solid rebounder.

Last season with the Jazz, he averaged 23.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and shot 39% from beyond the arc.

A potential starting five of Maxey, Gordon, George, Markkanen, and Embiid would be top notch with guys like Martin, McCain, and Kelly Oubre off the bench.

If Morey found a way to secure a deal like this, 76ers fans would be singing his praises.
