The Philadelphia Eagles arguably have the best wide receiver duo in the NFL. DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown will continue to be two of the biggest weapons for Jalen Hurts in the 2024 NFL season. The receiver depth behind those two, however, leaves plenty to be desired.

Parris Campbell, the current projected starter, doesn't necessarily instill confidence among the fanbase. That is why some Eagles fans have been clamoring for another option at WR3. Fortunately for Philly, a perfect trade target just emerged from an NFC East rival.

Jahan Dotson, who had two solid seasons in the league since he was a first-round pick in 2022, is looking increasingly more available. The Washington Commanders who hired Dan Quinn as their head coach this offseason, are reportedly looking for other alternatives at WR2. Prior to training camp, Dotson was considered a lock to be the WR2 behind Terry McLaurin.

Despite the fact that the former Penn State star put up 84 catches, 1,041 yards, and 11 touchdowns in 29 games for the Commanders, they have opened up the competition for the role.

This has obviously caused fans to speculate about the future of Dotson in Washington. The 24-year-old receiver led the starters with 32 snaps in the Commanders' first preseason game, adding to the rumors that his role may not be safe.

If Dotson is in fact not a starter for Washington, he may be an excellent trade target for the Eagles. He would easily slot in as the WR3 for Philadelphia with his speed and playmaking ability.

In-division trades are rare but if the Eagles make the Commanders a strong offer with an early-to-mid-round draft pick, they should presumably part ways with Dotson.
