There may not be a team that is looking to get back on the field more than the Philadelphia Eagles. Last season blew up in their faces when they were sent packing in the Wild Card Round to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

That loss was their sixth one in the final seven games of the campaign. Head coach Nick Sirianni had to deal with smoke surrounding his job but the Eagles decided to bring him back.

GM Howie Roseman made sure to make a bunch of tweaks around the organization, including the coaching staff and players.

Sirianni understands the significance of the 2024 campaign, as the Eagles changed both coordinators.

In late January, Philadelphia hired Vic Fangio to become the new defensive coordinator. Now with training camp starting on July 23, Sirianni gave some insight into how Fangio has fit in with the team.

Eagles News: Nick Sirianni Speaks on Vic Fangio

Even though Fangio has only been with the Eagles for six months, he's already been impressive.

"Listen, I don't know what happens at different places. All I can see is the way our organization runs, lead the way through our core values, and I've been so pleased with Coach Fangio and the way he's led the defense thus far. I've been able to sit in a bunch of those meetings and there's not a lot of fluff there. You did your job or you didn't do your job. There's a beauty to that."

This is great news on multiple fronts. On his way out of Miami, Fangio was called out by multiple players, including safety Javon Holland.

It's a positive step to see Fangio take control of the defensive group ahead of a crucial campaign. Last season, Philly's defense was terrible. They were 26th in the league in total defense (356.1), 31st in pass defense (252.7), and 30th in points per game (25.2).

Meanwhile, Miami was 10th in total defense (318.3), 15th in pass defense (221.2), and seventh in run defense (97.1) under Fangio.

The Eagles need the 65-year-old to help turn around this defensive unit and according to Sirianni, he's off to a great start.
