Nick Sirianni Breaks Silence on Eagles-Bill Belichick Rumors
It's an exciting time of the year for the NFL and their fanbase. Football is in the air! Training camp is going to get started around the league, with the Eagles reporting on July 23.
Philadelphia heads into the 2024 campaign looking to remove the bad taste in their mouth. After starting last season with a 10-1 record, the Eagles lost six of their last seven games, including a 32-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round of the postseason.
The downward spiral led to a lot of chatter surrounding Nick Siranni's job security. Philadelphia decided to stick with the 43-year-old but there was plenty of smoke about Bill Belichick poaching the job.
Siranni recently spoke on a range of topics going into the league and discussed Belichick.
Eagles News: Nick Siranni Discusses Bill Belichick Rumors
Instead of letting the pressure get to him, Siranni is taking the right approach. He's not listening to the outside noise and is focused on what he has power over.
"Control what you can control. That's what I've tried to do and trying to lead this team like I've always tried to lead this team. Trying to lead the culture because I know that's what they're looking at me, and they're looking at our leaders to lead that culture. That's what I tried to do since the end of last year. I'm really pleased with our offseason and let's see where we go from there."
- Nick Siranni
Although things hit the fan last season, Siranni has been a solid coach in Philadelphia.
He has a 34-17 record, including a division title, a Super Bowl appearance, and three straight playoff berths. His 34 wins are the most wins in the organization within the first three years.
The Eagles and ownership are focused on the 2024 campaign. That's the right thought process. But if things don't end on a high note, they might revisit the Belichick rumors.
