The Philadelphia Eagles revamped their defensive rotation over the spring after the team's epic collapse in the second half of the 2023 season. They addressed their holes on that end of the field via the draft and free agency. The most notable departure was talented pass rusher Haason Reddick.

After two extremely productive seasons in Philadelphia, Reddick was asking for a long-term contract extension that never came. Instead, GM Howie Roseman traded him to the New York Jets for a conditional third-round pick. The 29-year-old outside linebacker continued his contract holdout in New York, failing to suit up for practice or games. Even though his fines as part of the CBA have been accumulating, Reddick is showing no signs of backing down, sparking rumors about a potential trade.

Reportedly, Jets GM Joe Douglas is in talks with Reddick's agent. However, with no end in sight for the holdout, some have speculated that New York would rather trade him instead of dealing with the headache.

This obviously brought up the Eagles as a potential suitor. Philadelphia replaced the two-time Pro Bowler with Bryce Huff but he wasn't particularly impressive in Week 1.

For now, however, the Eagles don't have any intentions of bringing Reddick back, according to Derrick Gunn of Inside the Birds.

NFL News: Eagles Aren't Interested in Bringing Back Haason Reddick

Reddick is about to turn 30 in less than two weeks. The possibility of an age-related decline and his contract holdout are causing teams to be hesitant to trade for him. This likely is the case for the Eagles. If Roseman wanted to keep Reddick around, he would have offered him the extension he wanted before attempting to trade him away.

If the Eagles' defense struggles in the upcoming weeks, calls to bring Reddick back will only increase among the fanbase. With 27 sacks in 34 games as an Eagle, Reddick has established himself to be one of the best edge rushers in the league. He certainly would be a welcome addition, at least for the current season.
