The Philadelphia Eagles' offseason reached the next stage as training camp officially began on Wednesday. While a large chunk of the roster is more than familiar with the NovaCare Complex field, plenty of newcomers are experiencing Eagles training camp for the first time — including veteran offensive lineman Mekhi Becton.

NFL training camps offer the toughest practices that a football player will face in his career has coaching staffs try to walk away with the best 53-man roster possible. These grueling sessions can put even the most seasoned veterans through the ringer, proven by Becton's Day 1 experience.

Eagles News: Mekhi Becton Became Sick at Practice

The Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski reports that Becton became visibly sick during Wednesday's practice. According to Kempski, the former 2020 first-rounder was the first player to vomit at this year's camp and that at least 10 dry heaves were counted.

The good news is that Becton's sickness didn't plague him for long. He returned to the field after a handful of plays, showcasing his commitment to going all in with the Eagles this fall.

After Philadelphia's offensive line underwent changes this offseason — including Jason Kelce's retirement — general manager Howie Roseman signed Becton to a one-year deal worth up to $2.75 million in April. The former Louisville blocker played all 31 of his career appearances (30 starts) in a New York Jets jersey before making the move across state lines.

The change of scenery doesn't come without a big adjustment. The 6-foot-7, 363-pound OL exclusively played tackle during his time with the Jets, however, he's now set to compete with second-year pro Tyler Steen for the starting right guard spot.

Although Becton admitted that the position change has been "challenging," he's openly up for the challenge and credits the Eagles coaching staff with helping him develop into his new role.

The Eagles have had one of the best offensive lines for years and that'll stay the case if Becton can live up to his first-round draft hype. Philadelphia is currently tied for the fifth-best Super Bowl LIX odds on FanDuel Sportsbook, and a strong showing from the ex-Cardinal would go a long way in helping bring a title back to Philly.
