The 2024 NFL Draft is here and the Philadelphia Eagles did what was expected of them and selected a backfield defender to address their struggles on that end last season. Cornerback Quinyon Mitchell out of Toledo has the chance to be one of the best defenders in the league for a long time and a rival star agrees.

After the Eagles made the selection, the Dallas Cowboys star defender Micah Parsons couldn't contain his frustration. According to Parsons, the Eagles got "lucky" with Mitchell "falling into their lap."

NFL Draft: Micah Parsons Impressed by Eagles Selection at No. 22

Parsons was a guest on the Bleacher Report's live draft show. He seemed particularly impressed with the Eagles' pick at No. 22, calling Mitchell a defender who "checks every box."

There may be reasons why Parsons is particularly upset about this selection. The Cowboys have underwhelmed this offseason with their transactions while the Eagles revamped their roster to close the gap between the rivals.

Furthermore, the Cowboys traded down in this draft, moving from No. 24 to No. 29 in exchange for a third-round pick from the Lions. That selection ended up being another cornerback, Terrion Arnold. The Cowboys have not only not addressed the defensive side of the ball this offseason, but they also lost talent, most notably veteran CB Stephon Gilmore to free agency.

It must be frustrating for Parsons to see his biggest division rival bolster its roster while your front office is standing pat. The Eagles continue to make their case to be the favorites in the NFC East when the season starts. They will need immediate contribution from their new cornerback to achieve their goals.
