Latest Devonta Smith Injury Update is Huge Concern for Eagles vs. Bills

There's no question that the Philadelphia Eagles' upcoming clash with the Buffalo Bills is one of Week 12's biggest matchups. Both teams are loaded with household names on both sides of the ball, making it easy to see why football teams are looking forward to this bout.

Unfortunately, the latest injury news coming out of Philadelphia points to the Eagles potentially missing one of their top players on Sunday.

DeVonta Smith Injury Update

Philly Inquirer's Josh Tolentino reports that wideout DeVonta Smith didn't participate in Friday's practice. While the third-year wideout "briefly appeared in the locker room" following the session, fans must wait until the official injury report to get a better idea about Smith's Week 12 availability.

What's even more concerning is that there was no indication that Smith was dealing with an injury until Friday. A hamstring injury limited him in practice last month but it didn't prevent him from missing a game.

Smith has been healthy throughout his NFL career, having yet to miss a game to this point. Friday's final injury report will shed some light on whether that trend changes or not.

No doubt losing Smith, even for one game, would hurt the Eagles' offense — especially with tight end Dallas Goedert sidelined, too. The former Alabama product has hauled in 48 balls for 632 receiving yards and four touchdowns, putting him on pace for his second consecutive 1,000-yard campaign.

Even with A.J. Brown balling out as one of the top receivers in the league, Jalen Hurts being down two of his top three weapons isn't ideal against the Bills, who can drop 25+ points on even the best defenses.
