Jalen Hurts Makes Big Announcement Ahead of Eagles' Week 2 Game
After opening the 2024 NFL season with a win in Brazil, the Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to improve to 2-0 when they host the Atlanta Falcons for Week 2's Monday Night Football matchup. The Eagles will try to keep building momentum as they hope to further establish themselves as Super Bowl contenders.
As usual, Philadelphia will turn to quarterback Jalen Hurts to guide the team to victory. The Eagles gunslinger is no stranger to creating headlines on the gridiron, however, the former Oklahoma product had some incredible off-field news to share on Friday.
Eagles News: Jalen Hurts Announces Engagement
Philip Lewis of HuffPost is reporting that Hurts has revealed that he's now engaged to his partner, Bry Burrows. Essence's Victoria Uwumarogie added that the engagement took place when the couple took a beachfront vacation ahead of the 2024 season, resulting in the Eagles QB dropping down on one knee in front of the ocean.
In April 2023, Hurts told Essence that he "knew a long time ago" that Burrows was the one for him.
Hurts and Burrows met during their time studying at the University of Alabama. According to Uwumarogie, the pair dated "on and off" since they met but officially went public in 2023. Although she likes to keep to herself, Burrows did make an appearance during the 2023 NFC Championship Game.
Everyone knows how accomplished Hurts is on the football field, however, Burrows has done a lot in her own right. She graduated from Alabama with a Master of Business Administration and even led the school's MBA Case Team to the 2019 SEC Championship.
Burrows has since gone on to become a senior client experience consultant for data giant IBM before being promoted to an artificial intelligence (AI) partner. But even as busy as her life is, she always shows up when Hurts needs her support and vice versa.
We'll see if being an engaged man helps Hurts take his game to the next level when the Eagles face the Jaguars this weekend. The prospects of victory look promising given that Philadelphia is currently the 6.5-point home favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook.
In the meantime, we'd like to congratulate Hurts for taking the best kind of QB kneel possible.
