The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to bounce back in 2024 after a disappointing 2023 season where they went from Super Bowl contender to wild card playoff run exit.

After a frustrating finish to the 2023 season, the Eagles made notable additions on both sides of the ball, including the signing of star running back Saquon Barkley. However, Philadelphia didn’t stop there, as they used some of their picks in the 2024 draft to bolster their offense.

The Eagles took running back Will Shipley and wide receivers Ainais Smith and Johnny Wilson on Day 3 of the draft. Wilson was one of the better wide receivers in the ACC over the last couple of seasons and could be a playmaker as a rookie in the Eagles’ offense this season.

At 6-foot-6, 231 pounds, Wilson is the perfect red zone threat for star quarterback Jalen Hurts, especially if opposing teams want to double Dallas Goedert or A.J. Brown. Speaking of Wilson, the rookie wideout was seen working out with Hurts after minicamp.

The Eagles wrapped up minicamp earlier this month and won’t be together as a team until next month at the Novacare Complex. Therefore, these workouts and reps over the next few weeks could help Wilson as he can develop a rapport with Hurts.

As a sixth-round pick, there’s not much expected from Wilson, who is trying to make the 53-man roster out of camp. However, with the Eagles seemingly having an opening at the WR3 spot, the rookie wide receiver out of Florida St. could make some noise. And the first step towards those goals is building that connection with the franchise quarterback.
