One of the biggest storylines coming out of the Philadelphia Eagles' Week 7 win was Jalen Hurts' health. The quarterback wore a brace on his left knee during the second half of Philly's win, and later reports claimed the injury popped up actually prior to the game against the Miami Dophins.

With the dual-threat star hampered, it's inevitably brought up heated discussions around Hurts' continued use as a runner. While some are convinced this aspect of the Eagles' offense is at fault for his recent injuries, Hurts vehemently disagrees.

The signal-caller said earlier this week this is the "last [time] I'll speak on it" when asked about running impacting his health. He clarified that he's "never been banged up as a runner" and all of his past injuries have actually come inside the pocket, shutting down the "illusion and narrative" surrounding his rushing contributions.

This is a strong statement from the quarterback, and it speaks to how annoyed he is by this non-issue. You know the first to speak up if he felt he was putting himself at too much risk would be Hurts, who's a realist on any topic. The fact neither Hurts nor the team has pulled back his role as a rusher should be all anyone needs to know.

The debate over using Hurts as a runner will continue, but his dual-threat skills undoubtedly raise this team's ceiling. And it's not like the coaching staff is putting him in harm's way repeatedly. His designed run plays are well-schemed, and when he takes off on his own, he's mindful to not take any extra hits.

Any injury to a quarterback, even the most minor, can certainly prompt some worries. But the ire in regards to Hurts being featured in the run game is clearly misplaced.
