Haason Reddick has finally found a new home after weeks of being involved in trade talks. The Philadelphia Eagles sent Reddick to the New York Jets for a 2026 third-round pick that can increase to second-rounder if Reddick plays 67.5% of snaps and records 10 sacks.

Reddick's play or desire for the game wasn't the reason he departed from Philly. It was financially related and he addressed that.

In a presser with Jets reporters, Reddick said, "I believe I have a lot left in the tank. It wasn't about 'what he has left in the tank.' It's a business and sometimes hard decisions have to be made even if you don't like them."

Reddick, 29, has been one of the most productive edge rushers in the league for the past few years. He's notched four straight seasons with double-digit sacks, including 27 sacks with the Eagles the last two years.

His play on the field wasn't the reason GM Howie Roseman decided to dish out Reddick. The 2017 first-round pick is playing on the final year of his three-year, $45 million deal and wants to cash in on a new contract.

The Eagles just inked Bryce Huff to a three-year, $51 million deal and drafted Nolan Smith in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. They also restructured Josh Sweat's deal that keeps him around for 2024.

Reddick was the odd man out but it came down to money. Not his play on the field.

Regardless, the Eagles have one of the best rosters in the league and own a real shot of reaching Super Bowl LIX. They currently have the seventh-best odds in the NFL to win the whole thing at +1600.
