With the majority of preseason games done, teams are now tasked with cutting down their rosters ahead of Tuesday's deadline. That means several familiar names are expected to be on the move in coming days as squads decide who is their best fit for them entering Week 1.

In fact, one former Philadelphia Eagle has already been kicked to the curb.

The Indianapolis Colts were one of several teams to make several cuts on Sunday, Among them was wide receiver Greg Ward, who obviously sticks out as a once-Eagles wideout.

Despite going undrafted in 2017, Ward caught on in Philadelphia as a practice squad player. He eventually made his NFL regular-season debut in 2019 and went on to appear in 40 games for the Eagles over three years.

The 2020 season was a career-best showing for the Houston product, as he recorded personal highs in receptions (59), yards (419) and touchdowns (6). Ward even led the team in targets (79), but the year went nowhere for the 4-11-1 Eagles, who pivoted to a then-inexperienced Jalen Hurts as their starter to close the season.

Ward last appeared in a game for Philly during the 2021 campaign, but suck around as a practice squad member through the end of the 2023 season. He then signed with the Indianapolis Colts in the offseason, though it appears his tenure will end prematurely.

Considering the Eagles just made a big move to acquire a legitimate WR3 in Jahan Dotson this past week, bringing back Ward doesn't make a ton of sense. Especially since the team has a talented rookie in Johnny Wilson waiting in the wings as well.

Regardless, it'll be interesting to see if another squad picks up Ward ahead of Week 1, or if he has to wait until the season kicks off to get another shot.
