Eagles Rumored for Primetime Game After Season Opener
The start of the 2024 season is going to kick off in over three months. The schedule is going to be officially dropped on May 15 at 8 p.m. ET.
The NFL announced in February the Eagles would be taking part in the first-ever NFL game in South America.
On Sept. 6, the Eagles and the Green Bay Packers will square off in Sao Paulo, Brazil to start the new year.
Meanwhile, the latest report to come out hints at the Eagles having another primetime game in Week 2.
Eagles News: Philadelphia Are Rumored to be Hosting a Monday Night Football Contest in Week 2
A tweet posted by 'OzzyNFL' revealed that the Eagles are likely to host an MNF battle in Week 2. This is obviously not a very reliable source, but schedule speculation is fun, so let's think about it.
Plus, even without an actual source or rumor, Philly playing on Monday Night in Week 2 would make a lot of sense since they're travelling from Brazil. That would give them 10 days of rest after playing the Packers before taking the field on September 16th.
Although the opponent has yet to be determined, there can be cases made for anyone in the NFC East, amongst other teams like an interstate rival in the Pittsburgh Steelers, the new-look Atlanta Falcons, or the Cleveland Browns.
The Eagles made a flurry of moves in the offseason to improve the team and head into 2024 as one of the most exciting squads in the league.
New additions in Saquon Barkley, Bryce Huff, and the return of Chauncey Gardner-Johnson were among their biggest additions. They continued to add talent in the 2024 NFL Draft, nabbing CBs Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean with their first two selections.
Eagles fans won't have to wait long to find out the official schedule but the early leaks say their club will have back-to-back primetime tilts to begin the campaign.
