The Philadelphia Eagles are going through changes this offseason. In a make-or-break season for head coach Nick Sirianni as well as several key players, the Eagles need to make significant improvements to the roster to make it back to the Super Bowl.

These improvements should start in the defensive backfield. Over the last few seasons, the Eagles invested a ton of resources in their front seven but neglected their secondary. When they made moves to address it, they generally whiffed it. That was one of the primary reasons why the Eagles' defense completely fell apart in the second half of the season.

L'Jarius Sneed and Philadelphia Eagles Are the Perfect Fit

James Bradberry is almost unplayable and likely will not return to Philadelphia next season. Darius Slay is still decent but he is 33 years old. How many years he has left in the tank is a big question mark. This makes adding a cornerback one of the most pressing needs for the Eagles in the offseason.

ESPN's Matt Bowen identified a potential target for the Eagles to address their secondary struggles. Philadelphia was described as the "best fit" for L'Jarius Sneed of the Kansas City Chiefs, who is hitting free agency in March.

Sneed is coming off his second straight Super Bowl-winning season after he was a huge part of the Chiefs' defense, especially in the postseason. Sneed brings a ton of versatility with his ability to line up in the slot or out wide. Not only is he very solid in coverage but Sneed also makes a ton of plays, as most recently demonstrated by the forced fumble on Zay Flowers against the Ravens in one of the best defensive plays of the year.

The Eagles have $18 million in cap space heading into the offseason. They can open up even more with some maneuvering. Bringing in Sneed as the headline acquisition of free agency would be an excellent use of cap space.

The Philadelphia Eagles have the ninth-best odds in the NFL (+1700) to win the Super Bowl LIX. The right offseason acquisitions would help the Eagles get taken more seriously in Super Bowl discussions.
