5 Eagles Most Likely to Be Traded by the Deadline
It's officially a week until the NFL trade deadline, which means a number of players could be on the move in the coming days. The Philadelphia Eagles already made one big move on Monday, but that doesn't rule out more deals down the pipeline.
Bringing new blood in usually requires some players currently on the roster to exit, though. With that in mind, here are the five Eagles most likely to be dealt to free up space by the deadline.
Most Likely Eagles to Be Traded by Deadline
1. OL Jack Driscoll
Philadelphia's offensive line has been tested in the early going of this season. Some of the Eagles' backups, like Sua Opeta, have answered the call when they've been needed. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Jack Driscoll.
Lane Johnson's ankle injury in Week 6 cleared the way for Driscoll to get some extended run, but he absolutely fumbled the opportunity. His struggles protecting quarterback Jalen Hurts were obvious, especially so on his blown assignment that directly led to an Eagles turnover.
Driscoll's experienced a sharp decline in his role since the 2021 season that shows he's fallen out of favor with Nick Sirianni's staff. After playing in 86% of the available offensive snaps as an NFL sophomore, that number fell to just 30% in 2022 despite seeing the field in all 17 games. That number has somehow dropped even further to just 12% this year, all of which were when Johnson was out in Week 6.
Though Driscoll's clearly no longer a fit for this team, surely one of the other 31 franchises would be interested in taking a flyer. He's a mountain of a man at 6-foot-5, 312 pounds, providing a huge presence with upside at just 26 years old. O-line depth is always in demand around the league, so a deal is always a possibility.
