The Philadelphia Eagles are officially moving on to the second half of the season after the NFL trade deadline. Philadelphia was active, to no one's surprise, landing All-Pro safety Kevin Byard a few days before Halloween and then dealing veteran defensive lineman Kentavius Street to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday.

The latter trade happened to open up a roster spot, and the Eagles moved quickly to fill it on Wednesday.

Veteran wide receiver Julio Jones has officially been signed to the active 53-man roster, the team announced. Jones was previously on the practice squad, and he only had one elevation left before he either needed to be added or waived. This move clears up that uncertainty.

It's clear Jones has made an impression on the team in a short time. There's obviously a ton of knowledge the future Hall of Famer can pass on to the likes of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, which already makes him a valuable locker room presence.

However, Jones also made his first big impact on a game this past Sunday with his eight-yard touchdown grab. It was an impressive catch, too, with the 6-foot-3 wideout going up in traffic to secure the TD.

Philadelphia has struggled to finish off red zone drives all season long, so Jones establishing himself as a legitimate RZ threat would be a huge development for this offense. That'd leave opponents scrambling to cover the Eagles' plethora of weapons with Brown, Smith, Dallas Goedert, D'Andre Swift and now Jones figuring into that mix.

With Jones' roster spot officially locked down, hopefully that brings some stability to the WR3 position, which has been a revolving door in 2023.
